The Earth will bring forth its Praise

In the Psalms many of David's songs began in distress and concluded in victory. He journeyed from where he was to the throne, to the temple.

Israel sang his psalms as they journey from their homeland every year to the temple where they brought sacrific and were released from their sins for one more year. There is a progression in the psalms.

The following devotions are from Betty Slade's poetry books, "Within the Veil" and the second volumn "In His Presence".

A Pilgrim

Just a pilgrim passing through
The bounds of mere man
The rules of mere doctrine
Time given to mere earth.

This pilgrim has travelled
through time and space
to the heavenly city of faith.
The reality of life with God.

Operating ouside of time
As we submit to His purpose and plan
He passes talent
knowledge
and strength
To do exceedingly abundant of what
He asks or thinks,
according to the power
that works in tis mere pilgrim.

Within the Veil

Within the Veil

I rest in God's mercy
To satisfy a righteous God, in Jesus I
freely stand before the Throne of
Grace, looking without shame into His face.

To pay a perfect God my debt of shame,
His only begotten Son
for me travailed.

Hanging on the Cross, the curse for my
sin, God in Heaven hiding His face
form Jesus,
who was His grace.

For me, Jesus gave His life.
paid the price.
How wonderful is His love!

I say I understand
But, how much He loves
mere man, my human mind can never understand.
Only through a touch from Heaven
will I know His plan.

Teach me, dear God,
to know your divine love.
Will I ever understand Your gracious grace?
Only when Heaven lifts me up to see your face.

The Journey~~~ Walk the Talk

God pledged Himself for me. He hung on that cross until His soul was satisfied, until sin had been paid for through the body of Christ. Do I understand it?  Can I comprehend the Love that hung on that cross? Can I ever repay Him? No is the answer. I must trust God to show me His heart and the depth of His love.

He tore the veil and entered into the veil and took me with Him. Oh mighty God, how great is your love.  I now am anchored to Him within the veil.

How Precious the Gift

How Precious the Gift

Jesus, Your blood has cleansed us,
washed us and made us free.
Given us victory over death,
Life for eternity.

The Lamb, God's most precious possession.
Given to this world of need,

How Precious the Gift

"Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." John 1:29

The Journey~~~~ Walk the Talk!

Do we understand the gift? Do we understand the Love behind the Gift? We might treat the Love of God  like so many other gifts this season. We say, "That's nice." We do not understand it is the essence of life and is the only thing that can satisfy us. How precious the Gift.

Until we understand our neediness, we will not understand the Gift..

Justified by Faith

Justified by Faith

Awakened by a touch of His hand, a sense of
peace and joy -
My soul is lifted to the unknown - happy
that I have peace with my Maker.
He has removed the veil from my face,
I am learning to know His as He is.

Overwhelming love - no one can know unless
surrendered to the One above.
Opening heart, receiving Jesus as
Lord.

The peace that passes all understanding,
must be felt in the Spirit, seen with a
spiritual eye.
Knowing and trusting God's love.

"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God. Romans 5:1

The Journey~~~ Walk the Talk

It is that moment we surrender, we let go of all our anxieties, fears, doubt and independence and we say to  our Lord, "Open my heart and cause me to know you" He waits for us, he waits until we run out of questions and answers, He waits until we finally say, "We can't do it without you." In that moment, peace sweeps over our hearts and we know we have been justified.,

Water in the Wilderness

Water in
Wilderness

I am His, He is Mine

Stand on His work, God has not lied.
how could we ever deny
our God, our Maker,
an answer?

Allow the love of God to descend
into your heart, mere human being.
His gentle love has made me whole.
I hold Heaven within my heart,
and He has all of me in His.

I am His,
He is mine.

Stir not up nor awaken until He pleases
Love is there, as we experience it.
Hurry Holy Spirit,
Enable me to receive more of His Love
deep within my soul.

I yearn to experience,
I do not know His love,
that has been told.
How He embraces my life in His hold.

God, remove my spiritual blinders,
So I can see Your glory and grace.
Hide me in the crevice of Your Soul.
Pass by me, Your glory display,
Then people will say,
She's been with Jesus throughout this day.

The Journey~~~~Walk the Talk!
Yes, He will drawn us into the wilderness. But we will will find water there, because He promises. Not because it is the natural thing but His Word makes it so.

He will hide us in the crevice of His Soul. Why? Because He said so, His Word makes it so.

Love is there, as we experience it. So many times, we do not feel loved in the wilderness. But we are, because His Word makes it so.

Be Still

Be Still
Gently Drawn Away (Oil 16X20)

Experiencing Jesus,
a moment of quiet satisfaction.
No way to run after the moment,
one must stand quietly,
just enjoy.

Awakened b y the Spirit in early morning,
Just to hear Him say, I love you.

Oh! the love of God,
received only in sweet surrender,
His Lordship to last forever.

I don't deserve His loving dedication.
I'm far from rising to the occasion.
My love is feeble - the best I try.
He knows that, but keeps on loving me.
Hanging on a cross made from a tree.
"I lay down my life," He gently cries,
"My death makes your love justified."

How weak and feeble is my faith,
My heart yearns to be in His presence.
Will I ever learn to love Him as He serves!
Be a loving servant?
One who serves is all He asks,
Look to Jesus!

"Be still, and know that I am God  Psalm 46:10

The Journey~~~~ Walk the Talk!

This painting was painted in 1977 when we first moved to Pagosa. It was the Winter of my soul. We moved from sunny Arizona to the mountains where we were snowed in for days. I learned in those winter days that God was showing me how to be still and hear His gentle voice.

I kicked and screemed but finally I heard His Voice, "I am drawing you into the wilderness to speak tenderlyto you." You do not know my voice, you think you do, but you don't, you are still full of wrath. I am the only one who can deliver you from yourself.

God told Job, "If you can deliver man from wrath, then save yourself." We can not save ourselves and we can not release ourselves from our own anger, it takes an intervention from God to give us that relief.

New Compassion and Mercies

Lady

New Compassion and Mercies

God has come to earth to save.
Our hearts are made clean
by His Son,
Jesus our King.

The guilt of all wrong has been done away,
new compassions and mercies in this day.

Oh, God,
how do we ever pay
for our lives in full array
Living in the Heavenly blessings of this day?

Our hearts to your Son! Respect for
what He has done,
dying for us
to show Your love,
Bringing the Spirit on the wings of a dove.

I understand how I can face another day,
My life hidden in Jesus

Only His name my lips must say,
New compassions and mercies in this day.

Our hearts are "His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23

The Journey~~~~ Walk the Talk!

Living in the heavenly blessings of this day. Today, many things are happening, a grand opening, a Bible study, building shelves and doors.. We need His mercies and compassions in this day.

Mercies is an interesting word, when we hurt, we ask for mercy,  when we travel, we have for traveling mercy, when we go before God's throne, we ask for mercy, when the publican beat his breast and said, "Have mercy on me.", he went away justified.

That is what Jesus has done for us, He poured His blood on the Mercy Seat, and claimed us redeemed, saved, cleansed, righteous and justified.

We go to Him for mercy and in that we become justified. Yes, we need heavenly blessings in this day.

Choice Words

You have been made in God's image,
Either to curse or bless your Maker.

You will eat the fruit of your lips --
Choice words will come back to you
if you hold others same review.

Pray before speaking
and you will find
few words you need repeat.
It's Satan's way to bring defeat
to a life that wears the Christian name.
They will surely see Jesus as the same.

Don't do that to your very best Friend--
He died to set you free.

Free to speak words of condemnaiton --
you no longer walk in that way.

The Journey~~~~ Walk the Talk

Out of the same mouth proceeds blessing and cursing, these things ought not to be. When we use our words to bring doubt or accusation, we are cursing our maker. He has given us a choice to bless Him or curse Him, and we do it by our mouths.

Oh Fickled mouth, do you know what you are saying? You are revealing the heart of the bride.
